Our latest one-day beekeeping workshop participant was Andrew from Coffs Harbour. Andrew plans to purchase a Flow Hive (or two) for his beachside property just to the north of Coffs and he wanted to get some beekeeping experience prior to taking the plunge. Our workshops always begin with lighting a smoker. This core skill is often overlooked by new beekeepers. A well-lit smoker used correctly is the key to successfully working a beehive. We teach non-adversarial beekeeping. Bees will give you signals that they are going to get defensive and we can show you what they are and what to do about it. Andrew was able to develop his skills by inspecting numerous hives over the course of the day, an opportunity that you won’t get with conventional beekeeping workshops with up to ten participants. We are taking bookings for our one-day beekeeping workshops now. Click on the link below for more information or give Glenn Locke a call on 0459066297.
